Moving machines? Release the seat.

BowlerKit licenses are seat-limited per device — Founder covers one developer machine, Studio up to five. When you retire a laptop or rebuild it, free its seat so the next machine can activate.

1 · Deactivate from the old machine

On the device you want to release, run:

bowler deactivate

Confirm the prompt and the seat is released immediately. The command also removes the cached activation from that machine.

2 · Activate on the new machine

Run bowler create on the new device and enter your license key when prompted. The seat moves with you.

Can’t run the command anymore?

If the old machine is gone (reinstalled, sold, dead), you have two self-service options: manage activations from your Polar purchase portal, or contact support and we’ll release the stale seat for you.
